Résumé : Most empirical research in personnel economics has focused on the incentive and performance of individual employees, or teams of employees. Little work, either empirical or theoretical, has focused on the role of supervisors or bosses. Using data on the productivity of individual workers and the identify of their managers, we examine the importance of bosses.
